Fort90 Grasshopper Contest

I'm finally a bit settled in Japan, so I have more time for sketching! There is an awesome Grasshopper art contest: draw a pinup of one (or more) girls from any Grasshopper game. I like Silvia Christel from No More Heroes so much I decided to go for her! Here are some sketches, my idea is that the shadows casted on her resemble lingerie... Don't know which one to pick so might render a couple of them.

Final piece, I went for the third one! Added sketches of the other girls on the posters.

Romania

Quick sketch of an abandoned factory in Baia Mare, Romania. I was in Romania during the holidays, which was an amazing experience. Romania is a fascinating country, beautiful hills and forests mixed industrial elements such as huge  factories, goldmines and enormous pipes. It was fantastic, I made some beautiful reference pictures there! I'm planning to make a whole lot more sketches.

Environment Sketches

I've been practicing environments, just for the techniques and coloring. Since I don't have that much free time they're speedpaints :) I spent no more than an hour on each.

Japanese Artbook

Last year I published an artbook with 4 Japanese friends that sold very well at Comiket 2009 (Japan's largest game and comic market in Tokyo). So, this year we decided to make a part 2! For the cover, I had no idea what to make this time... So first I was sketching something with ships and cables (I love cables :o). A few days before the deadline I dropped the idea and started on the Noodle drawing.

Dominance War

.. Yeah, I wanted to participate in the pre-dominance war, but lack of time made me miss the deadline :-( It was so much fun to do though, and I will definitely give the real Dominance War in january a shot.

I wanted to design a Technomage and a Corrupted (2 of the 4 categories you could choose for the pre-dom round). I put them in a universe full of old technology with cables, antennas and satellite dishes.

Well I finally decided to start a sketchblog :3 Mostly because I have so many sketches and unfinished doodles that otherwise would never see the light of day :)
